Star Dance Showcase and Competition Day
Each Star Dance Class will be given the opportunity to showcase their skills and what they have been learning in class this year. There is no cost to the performer and they will perform in their class uniform.

In addition to our showcase we have any exciting in house dance competition with a guest judge! An opportunity to develop their creative talents and perform solo or in small groups. We actively encourage all students of all abilities to give it a go!! We have 2 competitions running through the day
Set Choreography Competition
In this competition competitors will compete on stage in groups of 4/5 all competing in the same category with the same age group. They will be taught a set routine and will perform that routine together in front of the judges. All participants receive a certificate, top 3 in each category to receive a medal. Dancers may enter in more than one style if they so wish.
This competition is perfect for all abilities and especially those not yet confident in performing alone on stage. We welcome all Star dancers to give it a go! All dancers will be given some positive feedback as well as some tips to help them continue to flourish and grow as performers.
Where possible dancers will learn set choreography in class - or be given a video tutorial. There will also be a quick 5 minute lesson before each section for the dancers to go over the routine giving them the best possible chances of success.

Entry FEE £ 4 per entry OR £10 to enter all 3 sections (Jazz, street, lyrical, contemporary)
Spectator bands £5 (These last all day)
Own Choreography Competition
This competition wil be for students to compete a routine they have devised themselves. Each entry will have their allotted time on stage to showcase their talents! Each participant will receive a medal. Top 3 in each category will receive a trophy. Music must be sent in clearly labelled by June 20th. Choreography MUST be that of the students and not any previous class work or Elite team solos.
Students may enter
Solos - performance 2min max £7 each entry
Duo/Trios - 2min max £4 Each entry
Group dances (4 or more people) 3 min max £4 each entry
!Time Limits may change depending on how many entries we have - advanced warning will be given!
Competitors can enter as many routines as they wish and in as many styles as they want
Whilst this is a competition, this is also an opportunity for our young dancers to get creative and showcase their talents. Each dancer will be praised and given some feedback to help them continue to flourish and grow. ALL ABILITIES are not only welcomed but encouraged to take part.

Estimated times - A full schedule will be released when all entries have been sent in
Performers do not need a ticket. All spectators pay £5 for a day wristband. Competition fees must be paid in advance.
Selwyn Samuel Centre Llanelli will have refreshments and snacks available. Please do not move around the room during performances.
